More than 120 Combined Staff Years of Fire Protection Experience

In 1999, Thomas A. Brooks, CET, and a partner, founded a more full-service fire protection company, DETEK Designs. In 2011, Tom (by now Nicet certified in Level IV Fire Alarm, and Level III Suppression Systems) struck out on his own and established Elevated Technical Design. Although the companies were similar, he chose to focus ETD solely on total system fire protection design. His vision for this new company proved to be unique in the industry. As demand for his services quickly grew, Tom gathered to work with him, highly qualified, NICET certified individuals from his extensive contacts in the business. Together, they form a highly capable team of designers.

"I only hire the best," Brooks says. "I know each of my designers personally...their strengths, their exact areas of expertise...At least one of us is highly experienced in every aspect of the industry...Technology allows us to work together across the country, and that gives us an exceptional perspective. Every one of them is as committed to excellence as I am. We want to be nothing less than the best design company out there, and I think we are achieving that."

Between them, they represent over 120 years of direct experience in the fire protection industry. Most of them have gotten their hands dirty right on the job, so they know what true safety and good design entails - from experience, not just from lines on blue prints. ETD’s wide-ranging knowledge includes Fire Alarm Design, Fire Suppression Design, Special Hazard System Design, and Fire Sprinkler Design.

No project is too large or too small for the company. ETD has designed systems for high rise buildings, internet switch sites, schools, data centers, air bag facilities, manufacturing facilities, frozen storage facilities, restaurants, night clubs, gigantic mining machinery, hospitals, grocery stores, retail centers - just about every conceivable kind of occupancy.

The future in fire protection design has moved toward 3D design and Elevated Technical Design has kept ahead of the curve in this area. ETD can incorporate our 3D designs into any building modeling package utilizing the Autodesk Revit software.
